Danique is a United States Navy Veteran and an advocate serving the warrior and military community. She served honorably from 2002 to 2007 as a Master at Arms Second Class and Protective Service Agent. Danique earned her bachelor's degree in 2013 in European History and German Literature and Linguistics. Then in 2014, went on to complete her Executive MPA at Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She also earned a graduate certificate in conflict resolution for service dog policy and warriors with PTSD. In 2017, Danique co-founded Leashes of Valor with two fellow veterans. The national non-profit provides service dogs at no cost to post 9/11 veterans to help with symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and military sexual trauma (MST), an underlying trauma to PTSD.
