USMC Infantry Commander leads Company In Some of The Bloodiest Battles in Ramadi Iraq

November 02, 2021

Retired USMC Major, Scott Huesing, lead a Marine Infantry unit in Ramadi, Iraq in 2008. This is his first hand account of the men he lead, the fighting they witnessed and the bravery they all displayed.

Scott describes how finding weapons in people's homes was not so black and white. The enemy would threaten local citizens in order to hide their weapons in homes across the city. In a city of 300K people and all the components that make a city, a city, were wiped out. It was similar to fighting in the Wild West.

"You never knew who your enemy was." - Scott Huesing

Scott Huesing is the author of "Echo in Ramadi".
